Mike Liddell’s career spanned education, the Scottish youth justice system and writing about both in the Scottish press for over twenty years before ill-health forced him into early retirement.  Since then he has continued to research and write on the poetry of World War I, the novels of Jane Austen, and semiotics while feeding the local birds. Living in the beautiful north-east of Scotland he has taken advantage of a much reduced workload to take up landscape photography when not acting as the pack mule for his wife’s many and varied cameras!
